What is Hypnosis

Hypnosis, contrary to popular belief, is not a form of sleep. In fact it is a state of heightened awareness, a connection to your inner guide. However for it to guide you successfully you need to be clear about where it is you want to go and what you want to achieve. When a person is in a state of hypnosis, their unconscious mind is more open to positive change. The cause of many problems often lies outside the normal state of waking consciousness and hypnosis helps to introduce these positive changes while the person is in this state.

Most people are quite surprised to discover that they have been hypnotised because they do remember everything that happened. This is because they believe that many of the myths about hypnosis: that they will be made to do things against their will and that they will go into some kind of zombie like state or lose control.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is the most natural self-healing gift known to humanity, with meditation, chakra clearing and creative visualisations all falling under the same category. All hypnosis as adult is actually a form of self-hypnosis. As children, we are conditioned, (hypnotised) everyday into thinking a particular way, creating certain patterns of behaviour and even feeling a certain way.

Through using hypnosis, you can harness your inner power to create the life you want rather than the one you believe to be yours. Hypnosis, using the power of the unconscious mind, is the key to changing old unwanted believes and patterns and create new positive life affirming ones.

A hypnotherapist helps you to access this very natural state of mind by making the right suggestions. In reality all hypnosis is really self hypnosis, the hypnotherapist is only there to guide you and knows how to structure the suggestions made in a way which is more likely to be accepted by the unconscious mind.

Hypnosis aims to promote healing by re-programming negative patterns of behaviour, by helping to switch off the logical analytical left brain and encouraging the more creative right brain to become more alert. When a person is hypnotised they often experience deeper, slower breathing, a drop in pulse rate and metabolic rate.

What do you experience in hypnosis?

Your unconscious mind has goals and it works towards those effortlessly, in the face of all obstacles and blocks. However there are often goals and directions that the mind is holding on to that no longer work for you but because they are held below the surface we do not know how to change them at that level. With the help of an experienced hypnotherapist, you can uncover deeply held beliefs that are preventing you from having the life you want and reprogram your mind to achieve desired goals and find happiness.

Most people describe it as a very pleasant and relaxed feeling. Different people experience different things. Some people report feeling light and floaty.

We can help you find that state of clarity and focus to redirect your life to where you want to be.
