What does hypnosis feel like?
You are deeply relaxed and calm, aware of everything happening around you. It is a pleasant and enjoyable state, very similar to daydreaming or drifting off to sleep. You will feel wonderfully relaxed and you may find that your sleep will be of a much better quality.
What if I can't be hypnotised?
There are only a few categories of people who can't be hypnotised:
1) those who don't want to be hypnotised, e.g. fear of loss of control or lack of motivation when a person’s partner pushes them to go to stop smoking when they don’t really want to.
2) People under the influence of drugs or alcohol because it affects their concentration.
3) Those who distrust the therapist or the process
4) People with some psychiatric conditions such as psychosis because they have a low span of attention
Everyone else can be hypnotised, but the depths and response levels do differ from person to person.
Is the depth of hypnosis important to the success of the therapy?
Not necessarily, many good results are achieved with a relatively light trance. Your ability to achieve deeper levels of trance usually improves as you get used to the process.
Will I be out of control or not know what’s happening to me?
Everyone has a unique code of ethics or values that they live their life by. It is a means of self preservation. It is not possible to make someone do something that goes against these core values. If it were possible, you would have read about a person who had been made to do things that they didn’t want to do. Hypnotherapy addresses changes to the unconscious mind, the part of you that goes into auto-pilot when you are driving or depresses the keys on the keyboard of a computer. This is not the same as “being unconscious” when you have no awareness of what is happening to you.
Is hypnosis sleep?
Not at all. You will just be very relaxed. Another name for hypnosis is heightened awareness. As with any ordinary conversation, you will remember most, if not all of what happened afterwards. Many people are quite surprised that they have been hypnotised because their expectation was that they would be “under”. If you think about it logically, if you are not “unconscious”, you must be aware of what is happening, so you can’t be asleep.
Will I be made to do silly things like those you see on stage or TV?
We are both registered therapists who have signed a code of ethics to protect your interests. Stage hypnotists are working to entertain the audience and there is a certain level of expectation. If a person goes on stage in this way, they expect to do silly things. When they go to a professional hypnotherapist, they should expect the therapist to work with them to help them overcome their problems.
We are both registered members of the UKCHO as well as members of other professional bodies. You can check our membership through the link below.

Can you guarantee me a cure?
It is not possible (or legal) to guarantee a cure in medicine or psychology. We do guarantee that we will give you the best of our knowledge, experience and expertise to help you find a permanent solution to your problem.
Nothing in life is guaranteed, and it is not professional to offer one. However, you can be assured that as professionals all our therapists can indeed guarantee that they will bring all their skills, knowledge, experience and ongoing training to bear in bringing you lasting relief in your problem.
How can I be sure that the therapist I am going to see would be the right one for me?
First and foremost, find a registered and qualified therapist who you feel you can trust and relate to. For this reason it is much better to talk it through over the phone before making an appointment, rather than booking through email.
